    Southeast Asia Launches Press Freedom Monitoring Platform

    Jakarta, May 29, 2023. Seven organizations launch pfmsea.org, a joint platform to monitor press freedom in Southeast Asia. This monitoring platform functions to monitor and provide real-time data based on attacks and threats against journalists and media workers covering digital safety, physical safety, and legal safety, including various new regulations that limit press freedom.

    Malaysia, May 3rd 2023, The results of the World Media Freedom Index by Reporters Without Borders (RSF) last year showed that Malaysia had moved up six places from the previous year and ranked 113 out of 180 countries in the media freedom scale. This shows an increase in the protection of media freedom in our country.
