Website of media organization 'temporarily down' after cyberattack

Description

The Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism (PCIJ) reported a cyberattack on its page, which has prompted it to take the site down temporarily on November 16, 2023.

PCIJ said the attack is the "the most serious" in recent years and that it is clear that the attackers' intention was to render the website inaccessible.

PCIJ says the cyberattack happened after recent reports of breaches and cyberattacks on government websites and databases.

PCIJ's recent articles include stories on the Percy Lapid case, excessive profit at the NGCP, and on 'pro-Beijing' narratives in Filipino social media.
