Unknown perpetratio sent out fake reports of journalist's death on email
In January, Regine Cabato's family received graphic texts that she was killed violently in the United Kingdom, where she is currently taking a fellowship. They received this message twice.
This week, Regine was alerted to an impersonation e-mail received by the Singapore-based media industry database Telum. The message (from a supposed firstname.lastname@example.org) claimed to be from her and requested for Telum to take down an interview she had previously given to them. Her only professional addresses are her Washington Post and Oxford e-mails.
Regine has been the target of online harassment campaigns in the past and is coordinating with her company about further security measures
