The whatsapp account of a Radar Madura journalist in Surabaya was hacked on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.
On Wednesday at 19.30 pm Hendriyanto received a notification requesting activation of a whatsapp number. The request was ignored by the journalist.
The journalist received the whatsapp number request several times, but it was still ignored.
Then at around 19.55 pm, the journalist couldn't longer control his whatsapp account, because it had been taken over by another party.
A few days earlier, the media published a report regarding the vulnerability of 56 polling stations in Sampang, which explained the names of the sub-districts of the vulnerable polling stations.
After the news was published, the Head of public relations of the Sampang Police asked the Radar Madura Coverage Coordinator to delete the news, but this was not done.
