Journalist at Toli Toli Gidion Siswadi Haromang are prohibited from reporting on Thursday, February 1 2024.
That day, several people demonstrated and gave speeches in front of the Toli Toli district court after the judge handed down an acquittal sentence against a village head who was accused of raping his residents. Those who demonstrated rejected the decision against the village head.
Journalist were present at the Toli Toli district court. When he approached the court room, Malompu was giving a speech, using a loudspeaker. He banned journalist from entering the room.
"Who are you?" he said to the journalist.
Malompu, who was using a loudspeaker, said journalist not allowed to coverage.
Journalist move closer. But Malompu chased him away, "Get out of here, animal!"
The journalist was almost physically assaulted, until he finally managed to escape and save himself. Journalist have reported this attack to the police.
