Description
On 29 March 2023, a monarchy reform activist spraypainted slogans denouncing the royal defamation law on the wall of the Grand Palace before he was promptly arrested by police officers patrolling the area. A news photographer who happened to be in the vicinity and took photos of the arrest said police also tried to detain him on suspicions of aiding the activist. A video taken by the photographer shows uniformed and plainclothes police officers following him as he tried to leave the area. Police eventually gave up the pursuit after the photographer maintained he was not involved in the activist's graffiti stunt.
