The media created a pooling or data collection that was carried out online for the Kudus, Jepara, Pati, Rembang, Grobogan and Blora regions to welcome the simultaneous regional head elections in mid-November 2024.
This data collection was carried out through the official murianews.com website.
Polling was carried out with two systems, namely open and closed. For closed polling involving 100 respondents. The purpose of polling is to capture the perceptions of voters in certain segments.
Open polling was first carried out for the Kudus region after the first debate of the Candidates for Regent and Deputy Regent of Kudus. Some time later, open polling was carried out for the Jepara, Pati, Rembang, Grobogan and Blora regions.
On the evening of November 8, the Murianews website began experiencing a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. The attacks continued to increase towards midnight and peaked in the early hours of November 9. The attacks decreased during the day at 15:00 WIB. Although decreasing, the attacks continued on November 10, at 12:00 WIB.
The IT team of this media noted that the perpetrators of the attack were suspected of using a VPN from Indonesia, and borrowing IP addresses from different countries including India, Brazil, Colombia, and Bangladesh.
A few days later on November 19, 2024, this media website experienced another DDoS attack, when this media was holding an open poll for the Pilkada Kudus, Jepara, Pati, Rembang, and Blora.
