Legion News Sued for Civil Case

Legion News media based in Makassar City, South Sulawesi, was sued in a civil lawsuit by Andi Nurlia Sulaiman. Nurlia is known as a businessman and serves as Director of CV Mulia.

In his report, Andi Nurlia Sulaiman sued the media for a total of IDR 200 billion in compensation.

Local media reported on Thursday, November 7, 2024. In a lawsuit letter addressed to the Makassar District Court, Andi Nurlia Sulaiman sued Legion News media for alleged unlawful acts.

Andi Nurlia filed a civil lawsuit after Legion News broadcast news that mentioned his name in the alleged embezzlement of money reported to the South Sulawesi Regional Police.

The news was broadcast on October 9, 2024, with the title "Name of Minister of Agriculture's Brother Dragged into Embezzlement of Partner Funds in a Project Owned by the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, Ends Up with the Police".

Based on that, Andi Nurlia through his attorney filed a civil lawsuit in a material manner with a valuation value of IDR 100 billion.

In addition, the lawsuit asked the judge to sentence Legion News to pay a forced payment (dwangsom) of IDR 50 million per day to Andi Nurlia if the Defendant was negligent in fulfilling the contents of the verdict.
