Halmahera Journalist Experienced Violence

Journalists in East Halmahera were attacked by Momole village government staff in South Halmahera, on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

Local media Halmaherapost.com wrote that Momole Village government staff, South Maba sub-district, East Halmahera Regency, Jasri Jabir committed violence against journalists.

Jasri revealed that his actions were triggered by news broadcast by the Kabar Halmahera.
The news report that the village staff had a car, but did not explain the source of the purchase of the car. This news made him emotional then attacked journalist.

Jasri, who was met by Halmaherapost journalists at the South Maba police station, on Monday, February 24, 2025, said he admitted his mistake because he was provoked by his emotions, and finally he lost control. He apologized and promised not to commit violence against journalists again.
