According to a statement released by Thunhoon, a news outlet covering the stock market and financial sector, its editor-in-chief received a death threat from an unknown individual on 18 July 2023. The statement said the editor, who is not identified by name, found 2 bullets and photos of the editor's 2 children inside the mailbox, along with a note saying "I give you seven days." The identity of the perpetrator and their motives remain unclear, though the news agency calls the incident an assault on its journalistic work and an attempt to silence its coverage.
