Investigators from the Central Sulawesi Regional Police have summoned journalists from media.alkhairaat.id as witnesses in a case related to an alleged defamation case. The letter was received by the editor-in-chief of media.alkhairaat.id on Friday, November 1, 2024.
In the letter, the Central Sulawesi Regional Police asked the editor-in-chief of media Alkhairaat for his journalist photographer to be present to provide information as witnesses at the Central Sulawesi Regional Police on Thursday, November 7, 2024. The case that needs to be clarified is related to the defamation case, which was carried out by the reported party Yuni Sara as Commissioner of PT Duta Maritim Morut.
Yuni had made a police report on May 30, 2024 at the North Morowali Police, that the Director of PT Duta Maritim Morut, S had embezzled their company funds. Yuni at that time also gave a statement to the Press that the embezzlement was carried out by S with the motive of collaborating with nine companies in North Morowali without notifying the Commissioner. The profits from the partner were allegedly embezzled by S. Yuni's statement when making a report to the North Morowali Police was quoted by the Alkhairaat media.
This media made several reports related to this, including the title "PT Duta Maritim Morut Commissioner Reports Director for Alleged Embezzlement" which was published on June 25, 2024. The Director of PT Duta Maritim Morut S who had been reported to the police, then reported Yuni to the Central Sulawesi Police, on suspicion of defamation with evidence of the news. Because of S's report, the Police summoned representatives of media.alkhairaat.id journalists to attend as witnesses.
