Video documentation of Journalist was deleted by police

The video documentation of Tribunlombok.com journalist Robi Firmansyah was forcibly deleted while covering a demonstration in front of the office of the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province, Indonesia on Monday, May 22, 2023.

That day, the National Student League for Democracy (LMND) held a democracy demonstration in front of the West Nusa Tenggara governor's office.

Robi, who was present at the location, then recorded the demonstration using his cell phone. Not long after, the demonstration ended in chaos, because one of the demonstrators confronted and kicked an official vehicle, which was crossing Pejanggik district, Mataram City.

Members of the Mataram Police arrested and dragged away the demonstrators.
The incident was recorded by Robi. After recording the commotion, Robi was visited by a Mataram police officer then being asked his journalist's identity. Robi answered that he was a Tribunlombok journalist, the police officer then left.

After the riot, the police then approached Robi and asked for his cell phone. The police checked the video files and immediately deleted the journalist's videotape.
