Two Journalists Prohibited from Covering PWF Activities in Bali

Description

Two journalists were prohibited from covering People's Water Forum (PWF) activities at the Oranjje hotel, Jl Hayam Wuruk, Denpasar, Bali, on Tuesday, May 21 2024.

The two journalists who were prohibited from reporting were Febri and Sari, who worked for Radar media and Tribun Bali.

At that time, two journalists were prevented from entering the meeting building by several people who were not clearly confirmed as representing any institution or organization.

One day earlier, at the same event in Bali, a mob from the Patriot Garuda Nusantara (PGN) mass organization carried out intimidation and violence against the organizers and participants of the People's Water Forum.

They seized banners, billboards and agenda attributes by force. Also committing physical violence against forum participants.

The crowd asked that the implementation of PWF 2024 be stopped. In fact, PWF 2024 is a civil society forum, which is shown as a space to criticize water privatization, and encourage water management for the welfare of the people.
