Project Multatuli Website Attacked Again

Description

The Project Multatuli website experienced another attack on Thursday, August 3, 2023.

That day, Project Multatuli published an article entitled "Ojol Gamification Engineering, Forces Partners to Work Longer and Harder, Makes the Lowest Level Miserable, and Breaks Solidarity."

This report is part of the #SmallScrews in the BigTech Industry series.

This report was released on Wednesday, around 5.00 PM (Jakarta time) on the website, then followed by publication on social media.

The next day, several journalists complained about the difficulty of accessing articles on the website.

The media IT team then checked the system and saw a lot of activity from visitors to the projectmultatuli.org.

Apart from that, it was also detected that a lot of activity occurred during WAF server events. One of them is an attack from several Autonomous System numbers or ASNs.

The ASN number identified one of them from a telecommunication company in Indonesia.

The Multatuli IT Project Team then read the data, that in the last 7 days, their website received an attack which was indicated as a DDoS.
