Journalist for Viva.co, Satria Zulfikar was intimidated into deleting a report he had written. The intimidation was received on Friday, November 25, 2022.
Two days earlier, Wednesday 23 November 2022, Zulfikar wrote a news item entitled "Alleged extortion at Mataram Police, Accident Certificate Must Be Paid". The report was published on a media site.
Wednesday afternoon one of the internal security division of Professionalism and Security of the Indonesian National Police of the West Nusa Tenggara Police contacted him, and was asked to come to the West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, to explain the chronology of events written in his report.
Also to ask the name of the victim in the case of extortion. However, Satria admitted that he could not come to the Polda, nor could he name the extortion victims written in his report.
On Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at around 13.44 PM, a journalist who works in the legal and criminal fields, asked the victim to meet with the head of the Mataram police traffic unit. He also asked that the news be deleted, and said that later there would be money from Kasatlantas.
At that time journalists said they could not delete news that had already been published. He is willing to come if Kasatlantas wants to meet, for an interview regarding the alleged extortion. The meeting with Kasatlantas was also cancelled.
