Journalist Floresa's Social Media Account Hacked, After Published Collaboration Report
The social media account of journalist Floresa.co with the initials FJD, was hacked on Saturday, 6 May 2023.
On that Saturday, around 11.25 AM, FJD received a notification from the telegram application on his cell phone, that another party had accessed his account.
That notification message, asking him to do two-step verification. In fact, he had previously activated two-step verification on his account.
At 17.49 PM, an Indonesian National Army (TNI) intelligence officer, who had previously called and questioned about his news regarding the road project in Flores, called FJD. But he could not pick up the phone.
The news that TNI intelligence has questioned tittled: "President Jokowi Inaugurated a Road in Labuan Bajo which was Built Without Compensation for Residents".
At 19.50 PM, the journalist then received a notification on his WhatsApp account, written "Your phone number is no longer registered with WhatsApp on this phone. Maybe because you registered it on another phone.”
When trying to follow the request to verify, he no longer gets the 6-digit code for confirmation, despite he trying many times.
After that, the account suddenly changed to a business account, whereas previously it was a personal account.
Seeing this strange thing, the journalist then uninstalled the WhatsApp application from his phone.
Previously, FJD wrote a critical report in collaboration with Project Multatuli which was published on Friday, 5 May 2023.
The news entitled, "Those whose voices are ignored and silenced amid the uproar of the ASEAN Summit in Labuan Bajo". The news was published on Floresa.co on 5 May at 20.00 PM.
This report raises the issue of neglecting the rights of residents in several villages, where the Labuan Bajo-Golo Mori road passes, to receive compensation for their evicted land and houses.
This report also criticizes police pressure on local activist, Doni Parera who criticized several things behind the implementation of the ASEAN Summit.
