Journalist Expelled When Covering prisoner Escaped Prisoner

Four journalists in Jambi were expelled when they want to cover the case of an escaped prisoner at the Sarolangun District Court, Jambi Province, on Wednesday, July 10 2024.

The expulsion was carried out by the Secretary of the Sarolangun District Court, Adri Helver Roniarta.

The four journalists who were expelled were Hasbi Sabirin (Jambi Tribune), Surya Abadi (Jambi TV), also Abdurahman Wahid (Kabar Sarolangun), and Padhil Kusairi (Jambi Teliti).

Journalists initially received information about escaped prisoners at the Sarolangun District Court (PN). They then headed to the Sarolangun court to seek further information.

After the news contained initial information about the case, they tried to ask for information from the Sarolangun District Court. However, Sarolangun district court secretary Adri Helver Roniarta denied the information conveyed by journalists.

“Your information is not clear, you make up your news. "Later, look for information from public relations," said Adri. The journalists were then expelled from the Sarolangun court.
