Covering Ministerial Coordination Meetings, Journalists Experienced Physical Violence

Journalist for Radar Sulbar named Adhe Junaedi Sholat and journalist for Tribunsulbar.com named Abdul Rahman, experienced violence and were obstructed while covering the meeting coordinator of the Agrarian Reform Task Force at the Grand Maleo Hotel Mamuju, West Sulawesi, on Wednesday 29 June 2022.

At that day, Adhe Junaedi Sholat and Abdul Rahman and several other journalists covered the activity which was attended by the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency Hadi Tjahjanto. The program starting at 10.00 AM. After the Minister gave his remarks, and launched a video with acting the governor of West Sulawesi, several journalists moved towards the front of the stage where the video was launched by the minister.

At that time, a bodyguard of minister's entourage forbade journalists from approaching the stage. He only allowed three people to approach the stage, including himself. However, several journalists who needed pictures or video documentation continued to approach the stage. Instantly, he asked the journalist to leave the place, and attacked a number of journalists.

Adhe Junaedi Sholat and Abdul Rahman admitted that they were beaten because their arms were pulled and dragged by the person. Abdul Rahman said he was pushed by the person twice.
