Journalist for ntbsatu.com journalist Mugni Ilma experienced intimidation and terror when he confirmed a raid on fuel and oil hoarders in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).
Mugni was terrorized and intimidated when he made several confirmations to the police in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on Thursday and Friday, 1 and 2 September 2022.
The news that he wrote was published for the first time in his media, on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. The news was entitled "Breaking News: Residents of West Lombok raid trucks suspected of stockpiling fuel".
Two days later, Mugni's report entitled, "Trucks Allegedly Stockpiling Fuel Appointed by Residents, This is the Kapolda's Response" appeared in the media.
Mugni then followed up on the report by confirming with several sources. Among them are the East Lombok Police Chief, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit and Head of Public Relations of East Lombok.
Strangely, after he confirmed sending short messages to the police, there were always people he didn't know calling him with threatening messages. The person's message, among others "You do not confirm to other people, or anyone regarding this matter. This is for security."
Mugni received several calls over the phone, from different men. That phone call, always there every time he did a confirmation. There were also threats saying, never mind, don't continue with news like that. It could be that one of your houses is on fire and something is damaged.
Mugni has received its first threats since the first reports were published in its media. At that time, an unknown person called him, and asked him to come to the hotel immediately. However, because that person calling on the middle of the night, the victim said he couldn't go.
